OBITUARY

Edwin Oswald Guehne, known to all as Ed, of Luebbering, MO, departed this life in Pacific, MO, on February 12, 2019, having reached the age of seventy-five years and seven days. Ed was born in St. Louis, MO, on February 5, 1944, son of Louis Edward Guehne and Pearl Mathilda Guehne nee Daum. On April 24, 1970, he was united in marriage to Donna Jean Smith and six children came to bless this union.

Ed is survived by his wife, Donna Guehne of Luebbering, MO; by four sons, Edwin R. Guehne, known to all as Eddie, and wife, Tanya, of Union, MO, Jeff Guehne and wife, Leslie, of Washington, MO, Michael Guehne and wife, Holly, of Grubville, MO, and Scott Guehne and wife, Erica, of St. Peters, MO; by two daughters, Becky Martin and husband, Bob, of Lonedell, MO and Holli Proulx and husband, Alan, of Commerce, MI; by one brother, Louis F. Guehne of Arnold, MO; by two sisters, Virginia Riley and husband, Ernest, of Belle, MO, and JoAnn Bailey and husband, Ronnie, of Grubville; by his sibling-in-laws, Allan Lee and Rose Mary Guehne, both of Grubville; by fourteen grandchildren, brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, great and great-great-nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends.

Ed was a Christian, believing in the Lord as his Savior. During his working years, he was employed as the maintenance director for Mehlville School District, retiring after thirty years. After his retirement he worked part-time for Integram in Pacific, MO and became a member of the United Auto Workers. Ed's favorite pastime was working on his dad's farm and spending time outdoors. He also enjoyed working on tractors and cars. Ed was truly a family man at heart and family gatherings were frequent and always loud and full of fun and laughter. Playing cards and going to the casinos were other hobbies he enjoyed.

A devoted and loving husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, great and great-great-uncle, cousin and friend, he will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved him.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, February 17, 2019, at Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair, MO, with the Rev. Scott Lohse officiating. Interment was in Crestview Memorial Park, St. Clair, MO. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or to Backstoppers.
