Dana Jewell Peterson of St. Clair, MO, departed this life at her home on February 12, 2019, having reached the age of eighty-one years and nineteen days. Dana was born in Holland, MO, on January 23, 1938, daughter of Thurmond Franklin Norrid and Lavada Norrid nee Edwards, On September 19, 1955, she was united in marriage to James Rick Peterson, known to all as Rick, and three children came to bless this union.

Dana is survived by one son, Rick W. Peterson and life companion, Jeanne Hoffmann, of Manchester, MO; by one daughter, Debbie Peterson and life companion, Mike Ealer, of St. Clair; by five grandchildren, Ericka Whitworth and husband, Brad, Sarah, Michael and Olivia Ealer and Logan Holman, all of St. Clair; by four great-grandchildren, Destiny, Lily, Liam and Hank, by two sisters, Barbara Morgan and husband, Charles, known to most as Chub, of Kansas and Carolyn Pease and husband, Max, of Alaska; by brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, great and great-great-nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends.

Dana was preceded in death by her husband, Rick Peterson; by one infant daughter, Rose Peterson, and by sister, Janice Teeter.

Dana was a Christian, believing in the Lord as her Savior. During her working years, she was employed at various jobs, including assistant manager at an emissions testing facility and also at McDonalds. Dana passion was gardening and it was during her adult years that she obtained an Associate's Degree in Horticulture from East Central College in Union, MO. She was an active lady with many other hobbies and interests. She enjoyed feeding and watching the birds, cooking and refinishing furniture. Going to yard sales was another of her favorite pastimes. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy and she was happiest when she was spending time with them, creating many wonderful memories.

A sweet and loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, great and great-great-aunt, cousin and friend, she will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved her.

Funeral services were held at 4:00 PM on Friday, February 15, 2019, at Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair, MO, with the Rev. David Godat officiating. Private committal will take place at a later date. Memorials may be made to the family.
