Vicky Lynn VanNess of Sullivan, MO, departed this life in Sullivan on December 22, 2018, having reached the age of sixty-three years, five months and twenty-three days. Vicky was born in Dexter, MO, on June 29, 1955, daughter of Robert Burdett Farmer and Frances Irene Farmer nee Richard. On February 6, 1981, she was united in marriage to Matthew Wayne VanNess, Sr. and their families were joined as one.
Vicky is survived by her husband, Matthew VanNess, Sr. of Sullivan, MO; by two sons, Shane Richardson and girlfriend, Carla Allen, of Sullivan and Matthew VanNess, Jr. of Sullivan; by her daughter, Angela Hunt and husband, Jeffery, of Sullivan; by two brothers, Robert Farmer and wife, Judy, of St. Clair, MO, and Charles Farmer and wife, Jeanie, of St. Clair; by twelve grandchildren, aunts, uncles, brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends.
Vicky was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Frances Farmer; by one son, Josh Paris, and by one brother, Randy Farmer.
Vicky was a Christian, believing in the Lord as her Savior. During her working career she was employed as a laborer at Brown Shoe Company in St. Clair and various other factories in the area. She had also managed a convenience store in Cape Girardeau, MO called Wink's Keg Shop. Vicky enjoyed playing bingo and going shopping. Caring for her family was her passion in life and she especially loved family get-togethers. Her children and grandchildren held a very special place in her heart, as she did in theirs. The love they shared and many precious memories they created together will live in their hearts forever.
A kind and loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, niece, aunt, great-aunt, cousin and treasured friend, she will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved her.
A private celebration of life and committal will take place at a later date. The family of Vicky Lynn VanNess entrusted the care of their loved one to Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair, MO.
