OBITUARY

Larry Gene Miller of St. Clair, MO, departed this life at his home, surrounded by the love of his family, on November 21, 2018, having reached the age of seventy-six years and three months. Larry was born in St. Clair on August 21, 1942, son of George Henry Miller, known to all as Bud, and Virginia Bernice Miller nee Nappier, known to all as Bernice. On March 7, 1970, he was united in marriage to Nyla Iris Stough and two children came to bless this union.

Larry is survived by his wife, Nyla Miller of St. Clair, MO; by his son, Randy Miller and wife, Julie, of St. Clair; by his daughter, Ragan Maxwell of St. Clair; by his sisters, Bonnie Stringer and husband, Steve, of St. Clair and Sandra Lough of St. Clair; by seven grandchildren, Sara Scott and husband, Corey, of Washington, MO, Kelly Lee and husband, Stephen, of Union, MO, Alex Miller of St. Clair and Jarrett, Gabrielle, Heidi and Danny Maxwell, all of St. Clair; by four great-grandchildren, brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, great and great-great-nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Bud Miller and Bernice Miller Ennis; by his step-father, Donald Ennis; by his son-in-law, Timothy Maxwell, and by three step-siblings, Donald Lee Ennis, Edmond Ennis and Marsha Harper.

Larry was a Christian and long time member of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church in St. Clair, MO. Larry was employed as a heavy equipment operator for Johnmeyer Construction in St. Clair, MO for several years and then went on to work out of the union hall of Operating Engineers Local 513 of St. Louis, MO, retiring after many years with the union. He was also a member of the Sons of American Legion Post 347 and Elks Lodge 2651, both in St. Clair. Larry was passionate about fishing and especially enjoyed going with his friend Curly Reed and brother-in-law, Steve. He loved people and visiting with family and friends was a favorite pastime. He was especially fond of his pet Brittany Spaniel "Rusty". What meant most to him was time spent with his family. The love they shared and many precious memories they created will live on in their hearts forever.

A kind and loving husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, great and great-great-uncle, cousin and treasured friend, he will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved him.

Funeral services were held at 10:00 AM Tuesday, November 27, 2018 at Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair, MO with the Rev. John Dover officiating. Interment was in Crestview Memorial Park in St. Clair. Memorials may be made to Friendship Missionary Baptist Church in St. Clair.
