OBITUARY

Edward Rodrick Bay, Sr., known to most as Ed, of St. Clair, MO, departed this life in Washington, MO, on October 30, 2018, having reached the age of seventy-nine years, five months and eighteen days. Edward was born in Washington, MO, on May 12, 1939, son of Bryant Edward Bay and Oma Bay nee Standridge. On August 26, 1961, he was united in marriage to Linda Sue McIntire and one son came to bless this union.

Edward is survived by his wife, Linda Bay of St. Clair, MO; by his son, Edward R. Bay, Jr., known to most as Eddie, of Union, MO; by four grandchildren, Ryan Bay of St. Louis, MO, Tyler Bay of Springfield, MO, Emily Bay of St. Louis and Andrew Bay of Union; by his brother, Bryant N. Bay of Woodburn, IA; by his sister, Carolyn Derrick of Creston, IA; by brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, great and great-great-nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends.

Edward was a Christian and member of Shiloh Baptist Church in Robertsville, MO. He was proud to have served his country in the United States Army Reserves from 1961 to 1967. During his working career he was employed by the United States Postal Service as a mail carrier, first in Springfield, MO, and then Pacific, MO, retiring after thirty-three years of service. Edward then bought his own over the road truck and worked for various trucking companies. He was also a proud member of Fraternal Lodge #363 AF & AM in Robertsville, MO. What meant most to him was time spent with his family. The love they shared and many precious memories they created will live on in their hearts forever.

A kind and loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, great and great-great-uncle, cousin and treasured friend, he will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved him.

A private committal will take place at a later date at Crestview Memorial Park Haven of Rest Mausoleum, St. Clair, MO. Memorials may be made to Shiloh Baptist Church Youth Department. The family of Edward R. Bay, Sr. entrusted the care of their loved one to Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair, MO.
