OBITUARY

Carolyn Sue Whited, known to all as Sue, of St. Clair, MO, departed this life at her home, surrounded by the love of her family, on October 9, 2018, having reached the age of seventy-four years, five months and twelve days. Sue was born in Arcadia, MO, on April 27, 1944, daughter of Gilbert Jackson Inman and Beulah Evaline Inman nee Browers. On January 25, 1963, she was united in marriage to Franklin Lee Whited, Sr., known to all as Butch, and four children came to bless this union.

Sue is survived by her son, Franklin L. Whited, Jr. of Ironton, MO; by her daughters, Carla Pelton and husband, Steve, of St. Clair, MO, Caren Vogt and husband, Lester, of Rosebud, MO and Cassie Belfancha and husband, Montacer, of St. Clair; by her grandchildren, Nick Pelton and wife, Kristen, of St. Clair, Austin and Faith Pelton of St. Clair, Frank J. Whited of Ironton, Caitlin Zelch and husband, J. W., of St. Clair, Caleb Kent of Springfield, MO, Connor and Levi Vogt of Rosebud and Adam Belfancha of St. Clair; by her great-grandchildren, Jack, Chase and Sophia Pelton of St. Clair and Gennevieve and Bennett Zelch of St. Clair; by one brother, James Inman, known to all as Jim, of Ironton; by three sisters, Betty Risher and Martha Bowen both of Ironton and Linda Whited of Washington, MO; by one sister-in-law, nieces, nephews, great and great-great-nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends.

Sue was preceded in death by her parents, Gilbert and Beulah Inman; by her husband, Butch Whited; by three brothers, Bateman, Jack and Abe Inman, and by three sisters, Elizabeth Combs, Lillian Hartwick and Pauline George.

Sue was a Christian and member of New Friendship Baptist Church in Gerald, MO. During her working career she was employed for fourteen years in the bakery department at the St. Clair IGA grocery store as a cake decorator. She loved to sew and bake for her family. Going riding on the motorcycle with Butch had always been a favorite pastime. Going to yard sales to see what she might find and going to the casino were other hobbies. Sue dedicated her life to caring for her home and family and was truly the rock of her family. She was anxiously awaiting the arrival of another granddaughter. The love shared and many precious memories created with her family will forever hold a very special place in their hearts.

A loving and devoted mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, great and great-great-aunt, cousin and treasured friend, she will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved her.

Funeral services were held at 10:00 AM Saturday, October 13, 2018 at Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair, MO with Deacon T. J. Wild officiating. A private inurnment will take place at a later date at Crestview Memorial Park Haven of Rest Mausoleum in St. Clair. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
