OBITUARY

Jean Marie Mothershead of St. Clair,, MO, departed this life in St. Clair on August 26, 2018, having reached the age of eighty years, four months and sixteen days. Jean was born in St. Clair on April 10, 1938, daughter of Elbert Clarence Mothershead and Clara Louise Mothershead nee Doud, known to all as Louise. As a young woman, she was united in marriage and blessed to have two daughters.

Jean is survived by one daughter, Tracy Hall and companion Sean Hartry, of Union, MO; by six grandchildren, Kristopher Hall of Joplin, MO, Kyle Hall and wife, Camry, of St. Clair, MO, Zackary Hays of Owensville, MO, Kody Hall and girlfriend, Elizabeth Renka, of Washington, MO, Ashley Thurman and husband, Josh, of St. Clair and William Missey of St. Clair; she was like a grandma to Brandon Copling of Dupo, IL; by two nieces, Connie Johnston and companion, Billy Robinson, of St. Clair and Lori Junge and husband, Russell, of St. Clair; by six great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great and great-great-nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends.

Jean was preceded in death by her parents, Elbert and Louise Mothershead; by her daughter, Lisa Hays, and by her brother, Warren Mothershead.

Jean was lifelong devoted member of the First Baptist Church in St. Clair, MO. She had served as a Sunday School teacher, on the kitchen committee, as a choir member, a worker for vacation Bible school and also a member of the Women's Missionary Union. Jean was member of the St. Clair Ambulance Association and had taken an EMT course in the early 1980s and was a volunteer for the St. Clair ambulance. She had been employed as a secretary at various locations but had retired from Mercy Hospital in Washington, MO, after seventeen years as a unit secretary for the Intensive Care Unit. Jean was an active lady and enjoyed many hobbies and interests. She enjoyed playing the piano, crocheting, sewing, cooking and doing crafts of all kinds. She liked going to functions where Warren was playing music. She was happiest when she was spending time with her family and many wonderful memories were created.

A devoted and loving mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, great, great-great-aunt, cousin and friend, she will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved her.

Funeral services were held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, August 29, 2018, at Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair, MO, with the Rev. Jim Muir officiating. Interment was in Prospect Cemetery, Lonedell, MO. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, St. Clair, MO.
