Obituary
OBITUARY

Maretta Joyce Minehart of Sullivan, MO, departed this life in Sullivan on August 11, 2018, having reached the age of eighty years, five months and four days. Maretta was born in Rector, AR, on March 7, 1938, daughter of Louis Franklin Williams and Martha Sue Williams nee Harman. As a young woman she was united in marriage and blessed to have one son. In later years, she shared her life with William Leslie Hawkins, known to most as Bill.

Maretta is survived by her son, Tommy Joe Bradshaw of Florida; by one brother, Billy Joe Williams and wife, Ola, of Blue Eye, MO; by one sister, Linda Williams and companion, Len, of Kennett, MO; by one sister-in-law, Margaret Williams of St. Louis, MO; by her dear long time friends, Linda Hoffman and husband, Howard, and Judy Henderson and husband, Jim, all of St. Clair, MO; by five nieces, eleven nephews, great and great-great-nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends.

Maretta was preceded in death by her life companion, Bill Hawkins; by her parents, Louis and Martha Williams, and by three brothers, Bobby, Gerald, known to all as Frank, and Larry Williams.

Maretta was a Christian of the Baptist faith, believing in the Lord as her Savior. As a young woman she had been employed in the meat packing industry as well as other various employments. After she began sharing her life with Bill, she thoroughly enjoyed traveling with him as an over the road truck driver. She enjoyed life to the fullest and looked forward to her monthly luncheon with her group of dear friends. She had a keen sense of humor and loved to laugh and have a good time. She cherished the time spent with her nieces and nephews.

A kind and loving mother, sister, sister-in-law, special friend, aunt, great and great-great-aunt, cousin and friend, she will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved her.

Funeral services were held at 1;00 PM on Thursday, August 16, 2018, at Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair, MO, with the Rev. Dick Hinson officiating. Interment was in New Chapel Hill Cemetery, Sullivan, MO. Memorials may be made to the American Caner Society.
