OBITUARY

Katherine Lynn Sherwood, known to all as Kay, departed this life in St. Louis, MO, on July 20, 2018, having reached the age of sixty-one years, one month and seven days. Kay was born in St. Louis, MO, on June 13, 1957, daughter of Mary Margaret Stevenson nee Jones. In 1975 she was united in marriage to David Spoon and blessed to have three children. In 1985 she was united in marriage to Mark Sherwood and blessed to have one son.

Kay is survived by her children, Kenneth Spoon and wife, Kim, of Sullivan, MO, Timothy Spoon of St. Clair, MO, Shelly Spoon of St. Clair and Matthew Sherwood of St. Clair; by her step-son, Greg Sherwood and wife, Brandi, of Villa Ridge, MO; by one brother, Dennis Stevenson and wife, Star, of Buckley, WA; by her uncle, William Jones of Eureka, MO; by five grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends.

Kay was preceded in death by her parents, Mary Stevenson Kueck Townsend and Kenneth Kueck.

Kay was Christian and devoted member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in St. Clair, MO. She was always there to work at church functions and volunteer to help whenever needed. She had been employed by Aerofil Technology in Sullivan, MO, as a quality analyst for twenty-six years. When her children were young, she was a Den Mother for her son's Cub Scout and the Boy Scout Troops. She had many hobbies and interests during her life but crocheting was one of her favorite pastimes. Nothing made her happier than spending time with her grandchildren.

A devoted and loving mother, mother-in-law. step-mother, grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, great-aunt, cousin and friend, she will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved her.

Memorial services were held at 4:00 PM on Thursday, July 26, 2018, at Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair, MO, with the Rev. John Rhoads officiating. Private committal will take place at a later date. Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association.
