OBITUARY

James Kevin Morris, known to all as Jim, of St. Clair, MO, departed this life in Washington, MO, on June 25, 2018, having reached the age of sixty-three years, seven months and twenty-six days. Jim was born in Kansas City, MO, on October 29, 1954, son of Richard Clayton Morris and Helen Inez Morris nee Gates. As a young man he was united in marriage and blessed to have one daughter.

Jim is survived by his daughter, Mallory Morris of St. Clair, MO; by one brother, Craig Morris and wife, Coleen, of Liberty,. MO; by two sisters, Andrea Stine and husband, Richard, known to most as Dick, of Winter Park, FL and Janet Wilson of Pensacola, FL; by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Helen Morris, and by one sisters, Gayle Biron.

Jim was a Christian and devoted, active member of the St. Clair United Methodist Church in St. Clair, MO. He never missed services or Sunday School attendance and if a project needed done at the church, he was there lending a helping hand. He truly enjoyed helping in the kitchen at church dinners. Jim was proud to have served his country during the Vietnam War in the United States Navy. He was a carpenter by trade and worked primarily through the Carpenter's Union Hall. He was an outdoorsman at heart and he and Mallory loved to go hiking. Reading was a favorite pastime, especially Western novels. He also enjoyed watching Western shows on television. He had enjoyed many hobbies during his life but collecting cast iron cookware was a favorite. Nothing meant more to Jim than the time he spent with Mallory and many wonderful memories have been created.

A devoted and loving father, brother, brother-in-law, nephew, uncle, great-uncle, cousin and friend, he will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved him.

Memorial services were held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, June 30, 2018, at the St. Clair United Methodist Church in St. Clair, MO with the Rev. John Hampton, Jr. officiating. Private committal will take place at a later date. The family entrusted the care of their loved one to Russell Colonial Funeral Home, St. Clair, MO, Memorials may be made to the family.
