Robert Clifton Pierce, known to all as Bob, of St. Clair, MO, departed this life in St. Clair on June 25, 2018, having reached the age of ninety-four years, two months and twenty-three days. Bob was born in St. Clair on April 2, 1924, son of Guy Rohan Pierce and Ida Mae Pierce nee Chapman. On November 27, 1948, he was united in marriage to Laverne Amanda Kimker and five children came to bless this union.

Bob is survived by his wife, Laverne Pierce, of St. Clair, MO; by three sons, Rohan Pierce and wife, Charlotte, of Schetz, TX, Clifford Pierce and wife, Zoe, of St. Clair and Jerry Pierce and wife, Andrea, of St. Clair; by one daughter, Julie Gordon and husband, Tim, of St. Clair; by his brothers-in-law, Alvin Kimker and wife, Gladys, of Sullivan, MO and Bob Kimker and wife, Sherry, of St. Clair; by his sisters-in-law, June Heimbaugh of Washington, MO, Sharon Roberts and husband, Dan, of Rogers, AR and Karen Griemel of Bourbon, MO; by nine grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great and great-great-nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Guy and Ida Pierce; by one infant son, Timothy Pierce, and by his sister, Edith Duckworth.

Bob was a Christian and lifelong member of First Baptist Church in St. Clair, MO. He was an ordained Deacon of the church and loved singing in the church choir. Bob had remained an active member of the church as long as his health allowed. During his working years, Bob was employed at Alton Box Company, later known as Jefferson Smurfit, in Pacific, MO, retiring after about thirty-five years. After his retirement, he took over the ownership Pierce Printing in St. Clair, MO, working until he was ninety-two and finally retiring after working the business for about thirty years. The business has been started by his father in 1940, first being named The Ozark News and then later renamed Clifton Publishing Company. Bob changed the name to Pierce Printing when he took ownership. He enjoyed doing carpenter work, even building his own house in St. Clair. He also loved to watch old western movies, and especially enjoyed the Lawrence Welk television show. What meant most to him was time spent with family. The love they shared and many precious memories they created will live on in their hearts forever.

A kind and loving husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, great and great-great-grandfather, brother-in-law, uncle, great and great-great-uncle, cousin and treasured friend, he will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved him.

Funeral services were held at 10:00 AM Saturday, June 30, 2018, at Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair, MO, with the Rev. Jim Muir officiating. Interment was in Midlawn Memorial Gardens, Union, MO. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church in St. Clair, MO.
