OBITUARY

Sharon Ann Wilson of St. Clair, MO, departed this life at her home, surrounded by the love of her family, on Sunday, May 13, 2018, having reached the age of sixty-seven years, ten months and twelve days. Sharon was born in St. Louis, MO, on June 21, 1950, daughter of James Leroy Bailey and Grace Bailey nee Cantrell. As a young woman she was united in marriage and blessed to have two children. On October 1, 1982, she was united in marriage to Roy William Wilson and their families were joined as one.

Sharon is survived by her husband, Roy Wilson of St. Clair, MO; by two children, Kory Halmich and wife, Carrissa, of Luebbering, MO and Kelly Smith and husband, Curtis, of St. Clair; by two step-children, Robert Wilson and Lori Gratzer and husband, Bill, both of St. Clair; by five siblings, James Bailey and wife, Mamie, of Olathe, KS, Stanley Bailey and wife, Carol, of Gerald, MO, Diana Rampani of St. Clair, MO, Gregory Bailey of St. Clair and Mark Bailey and wife, Carol, of Quincy, IL; by thirteen grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren, brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, great and great-great-nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, James and Grace Bailey, and by three grandchildren, Jordan Halmich, Derek Crow and infant boy Halmich.

Sharon was a Christian and member of Christ Chapel Freewill Baptist Church in St. Clair, MO. For most of her working career she was employed as a machine operator at St. Clair Die Casting in St. Clair, MO. When her children were growing up she was active in the St. Clair Soccer Association and the St. Clair Baseball Association. She was also a past member of the Women's Jaycees in St. Clair. Sharon loved spending time outdoors and every Spring she liked to go mushroom hunting. Gardening and raising beautiful flowers was another of her hobbies. Sharon always kept busy doing all sorts of crafts but she especially enjoyed scrapbooking. Nothing made her happier than the time she spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A kind and loving wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, great and great-great-aunt, cousin and friend, she will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved her.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 PM on Friday, May 18, 2018, at Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair, MO, with Brother Duke West officiating. Interment was in Crestview Memorial Park, St. Clair, MO. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association or to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.
