Speed Thomas Hill of St. Clair, MO, departed this life in Washington, MO, on April 26, 2018, having reached the age of seventy-five years, eleven months and twenty-four days. Speed was born in Williamsburg, KY, on May 2, 1942, son of Henry Burton Hill and Mary Ellen Hill nee Hamblin. On November 26, 1965, he was united in marriage to Geneva Stevens and three children came to bless this union.

Speed is survived by his wife, Geneva Hill of St. Clair, MO; by his sons, Richard Hill and fiancée, Pam Parry, of St. Clair and Randy Hill and wife, Barbara, of Sullivan, MO; by his daughter, Angela Hensley and husband, Donnie, of Bourbon, MO; by one sister, Beulah Lawson of Williamsburg, KY; by six grandchildren, Lee Hill and fiancée, Caroline, of St. Louis Park, MN, Timothy Hill and wife, Elizabeth, of St. Clair, Amber Hill of St. Clair, Katherine Hill of St. Clair, Ashton Hill of Sullivan, MO and Titus Hill of Sullivan; by one great-grandchild, Christopher Hill of St. Clair; by brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, great and great-great-nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends.

Speed was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Mary Hill; by his brothers, Edmond, Randall, Armus and Donald Hill, and by two sisters, Norma Powers and Arlene Hill.

Speed was a Christian and member of Living Word Church in Leasburg, MO. During his working career he was employed by Daimler Chrysler Corporation in Fenton, MO, as an inspector and retired after thirty years of service. He was also a retiree and member of the United Auto Workers Local 110 of St. Louis, MO. During his younger years, Speed was an active member and past president of the St. Clair Baseball Association. He also enjoyed going fishing with the family, watching sports on television and sitting on his front porch. What meant most to him was time spent with his family. His children and grandchildren held a special place in his heart, as he did in their hearts. The love they shared and many precious memories they created will be cherished by them all.

A kind and loving husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, great and great-great-uncle, cousin and friend, he will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved him.

Funeral services were held at 10:00 AM Monday, April 30, 2018, at Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair, MO, with the Rev. Jim Delacourt, Sr. officiating, assisted by the Rev. Jim Delacourt, Jr. Interment was in Midlawn Memorial Gardens in Union, MO.
