Cheryl Ann Powers of Robertsville, MO, departed this life at her home, surrounded by the love of her family, on April 17, 2018, having reached the age of fifty-eight years, seven months and nine days. Cheryl was born in Paragould, AR, on September 8, 1959, daughter of Johnny Marvin Norton and Willie Mae Norton nee Smith. On August 9, 1980, she was united in marriage to Mark Dwayne Powers and three children came to bless this union.

Cheryl is survived by her husband, Mark Powers of Robertsville, MO; by her children, Kenneth Powers and wife, Megan, of St. Clair, MO, Courtney Hurt and husband, Mike, of Union, MO, and Katie Powers and fiancÚ, Brandon Huxhold, of Pacific, MO; by her step-mother, Kathryn Norton of Augusta, AR; by her father-in-law, Jack Powers of Lonedell, MO; by her brothers, Mark Norton and wife, Rita, of Fairbanks, AK, Charles Norton and wife, Fananda, of McCory, AR, and Mike Norton and wife, Sally, of Tichnor, AR; by her step-brothers, Charles Malin and wife, Jennifer, of Little Rock, AR and Tommy Malin of Memphis, AR; by eight grandchildren, brothers and sisters-in-law, aunts, uncle, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends.

Cheryl was preceded in death by her parents, Johnny and Willie Norton; and by her mother-in-law, Venida Powers.

Cheryl was a Christian and member of Bethel Baptist Church in Lonedell, MO. She was proud to have served her country in the United States Air Force, entering in 1979 and receiving her honorable discharge on July 31, 1983. During her working career she was employed at Tops, an office supply company in Union, MO, where she served the company as a multi skilled operator for twenty-five years. She loved to watch the deer in her yard and go fishing with the family. She also loved and collected tigers. To Cheryl, family came first and she enjoyed doing things with her family, whatever that was. The love they shared and the very many precious memories they created will live in their hearts forever.

A loving and devoted wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, step-daughter, daughter-in-law, sister, sister-in-law, niece, aunt, great-aunt, cousin and treasured friend, she will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved her.

Funeral services were held at 7:00 PM Thursday, April 19, 2018, at Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair, MO, with the Rev. Jason Powers officiating. A private committal will take place at a later date. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
