OBITUARY

Lois Mae Huff of St. Clair, MO, departed this life in Creve Coeur, MO, on April 13, 2018, having reached the age of eighty-two years, eleven months and four days. Lois was born in St. Clair, MO, on May 9, 1935, daughter of Grover Hugh Henry and Wilma Mary Henry nee Lewis. As a young woman she was united in marriage and blessed to have three children.

Lois is survived by one daughter, Tonya Darr and husband, Brett, of Brighton, IL; by one son, Marvin Cook and wife, Carla, of Bartonville, IL; by her grandchildren, Charissa Cardwell and husband, Jade, of Spokane, WA, Derek Morrow of Morton, IL, Tiffany Gula and husband, Stan, of Brighton, IL, Allyson White and husband, Stephen, of Jerseyville, IL, Eden Rensing and husband, Charlie, of Kansas City, MO and Emma and Brianna Cook of Bartonville; by four great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends.

Lois was preceded in death by her parents, Grover and Wilma Henry; by one daughter, Monica Michelle, and by her brother, Carl Dee Henry, known to all as Dee.

Lois was a Christian of the Baptist faith and past member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in St. Clair, MO. She had been very active in the church, singing in the church choir, singing solos and being in charge of the food ministry. She worked at Christian youth camps in Oklahoma and Arkansas for several years. She also co-hosted a radio show on KLPW for ten years on Sunday mornings called Songs of Zion. Lois was proud to be a member of the American Legion Post 347, Ladies' Auxiliary of St. Clair, MO. She was a very active member, having served in many of the officer roles in past years. Lois was a Licensed Practical Nurse and was employed at St. Clair Nursing Center for many years, retiring in the 1990's. She was a very active lady that loved traveling, cooking, shopping and decorating her home. Lois also competed in beauty pageants, winning the title of Ms. Senior Mid-East Missouri in St. Charles, MO, Ms. Senior Golden Games at the state level and competing for Ms. Missouri Senior America. Her children and grandchildren held a very special place in her heart, as she did in their hearts.

A dear mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, great-aunt, cousin and friend, she will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved her.

Funeral and American Legion Auxiliary services were held at 1:00 PM Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair, MO, with Rev. Tom Smith and Susie Girardier officiating, respectively. Interment was in Midlawn Memorial Gardens in Union, MO. Memorials may be made to American Legion Post 347 Ladies Auxiliary in St. Clair, MO.
