OBITUARY

LeAnna Lynn Hawkins of St. Clair, MO, departed this life in Washington, MO, on February 10, 2018, having reached the age of forty-four years, two months and twenty days. LeAnna was born in Kirkwood, MO, on December 26, 1973, daughter of Chester Wayne Rice, Jr. and Shirley Jean Rice (Branscum). On April 29, 1995, she was united in marriage to Eric Wayne Hawkins and two children came to bless this union.

LeAnna is survived by her husband, Eric Hawkins of St. Clair, MO; by her son, Riley Hawkins and girlfriend, Samantha Holdmeyer, of St. Clair; by her daughter, Daytona Hawkins and boyfriend, Travis Berger, of St. Clair; by her grandson, Ryder Lynn Hawkins; by her parents, Chester, Jr. and Shirley Rice of St. Clair; by her father-in-law, Dale Hawkins and wife, Dianne, of Pacific, MO; by her grandmother, Ruth Marie Rice Wright of St. Clair; by her brother, Chester W. Rice, III, known to all as Wayne, and wife, Michelle, of Villa Ridge, MO; by her sibling-in-laws, Brian Hawkins and wife, Cindy, of Robertsville, MO, Kirsten Wyman and husband, Bryan, of High Ridge, MO and Sean Hawkins and wife, Kathleen, of Kansas City, MO; by a close family friend, Ray Roberson of Robertsville; by aunts, uncles, brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends.

LeAnna was preceded in death by her mother-in-law, Bonnie Sue Hawkins; by her grandparents, Chester Rice, Sr., Charles Wright and Deris and Susie Branscum, and by her grandparents-in-law, Burl and Estalee Hawkins and Hettie Brewer.

LeAnna was a Christian and had attended Villa Ridge Baptist Church in her youth, where she was baptized as a young girl. In more recent years she had visited St. Clair Southern Baptist Church. Her passion was teaching preschoolers, and she had furthered her education, earning a degree as a certified pre-school teacher. She was currently employed at Gray Summit Christian Preschool, having been with the school since 2005. LeAnna had a variety of interests throughout her life but she especially enjoyed watching dirt track racing. Photography was another of her hobbies and she was always taking pictures at the race tracks. She was a talented seamstress and a great cook too. What meant most to her was time spent with her family. Her children and especially her grandson held a very special place in her heart. The love they shared and many precious memories they created will live on in their hearts forever.

A devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, granddaughter, daughter-in-law, sister, sister-in-law, niece, aunt, great-aunt, cousin and treasured friend, she will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved her.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 PM Sunday, February 18, 2018, at Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair, MO with the Rev. Bill Savage officiating. Interment was in Crestview Memorial Park, St. Clair, MO. Memorials may be made to the family.
