Michael John Hampson, known to most as Mike, of Lonedell, MO, departed this life in Creve Coeur, MO, on February 9, 2018, having reached the age of sixty-seven years, eight months and sixteen days. Mike was born in St. Louis, MO, on May 23, 1950, son of John Berkeley Hampson and Mary Louise Hampson nee Reid. On February 6, 1985, he was united in marriage to Regina Ann Murphy nee Williams and one daughter came to bless this union and he loved Regina's children as his own.

Mike is survived by two daughters, Becky Hampson and boyfriend, John Maxwell, and Candy J. Fields both of Luebbering, MO; by one son Michael Murphy of Lonedell, MO; by his former wife, Regina Hampson of Lonedell; by eight grandchildren, Nevaeh Jeffries-Murphy of Lake of the Ozarks, MO, Kami, Emma, Anna, Cassie, Katelynn and Dalton Fields and Jordyn Hampson and Carrick Maxwell, all of Luebbering; by his sister-in-law, Mary Hampson of Perryville, MO; by one uncle, brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents, John and Mary Hampson; and by two brothers, John Richard Hampson, known to all as Rick, and Patrick B. Hampson, known to all as Pat.

Mike was a Christian, having been raised in the Baptist faith. He was of proud retiree of the International Brotherhood of Boilermakers, Local 27 of St. Louis, MO, having been a member for over forty-five years. He was also a member of St. Clair Elk's Lodge 2651 of St. Clair, MO. Mike was an outdoorsman at heart and a lot of great memories were created on family camping and fishing trips. He loved to cook and have barbeques with family and friends. In recent years he enjoyed watching old movies and was happiest when he was surrounded by his grandchildren.

A kind and loving father, grandfather, brother-in-law, nephew, uncle, great-uncle, cousin and friend, he will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved him.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair, MO, with Elk's service at 7:30 PM. Funeral services were held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, February 14, 2018 at the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Ben Kingston officiating. Interment was in Crestview Memorial Park, St. Clair, MO.
