Richard Lee Rieff, known to all as Dick, of Robertsville, MO, departed this life at his home on February 9, 2018, having reached the age of eighty-one years, seven months and thirteen days. Dick was born June 26, 1936, in Torrance, CA, son of Barney Cooper Rieff, Sr. and Sarah Agnes Rieff nee Buddemeyer As a young man he was united in marriage and two children came to bless this union. On October 12, 1974, he was united in marriage to Marilyn Joyce Flesch and one daughter came to bless this union.

Dick is survived by his daughter, Joanne Worobec and husband, Matt, of St. Peters, MO; by two sons, Dean Rieff and wife, Kimberly, of Salt Lake City, UT and Ronald Rieff and wife, Shauna, of Sandy, UT; by nine grandchildren, Nick Rieff, Christopher Marquez and wife, Nina, Nikki Padia and husband, Jesse, Jared Rieff and wife, Hannah, Amber Mower and husband, Shane, Danielle Coleman, Gwyneth Worobec, Vivian Worobec and William Worobec; by one half-brother, Barney Rieff, Jr. of Needles CA; by one half-sister, Susie Holbert of the state of Nevada; by nine great-grandchildren, brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, great and great-great-nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.

Dick was preceded in death by his wife, Marilyn Rieff; by his parents, Barney Rieff, Sr. and wife, Elverta, and Sarah Rieff Nichols and husband, Carl.

Dick was a Christian and member of St. John United Church of Christ in St. Clair, MO. He was proud to have served his country during the Korean War and Vietnam War, in the United States Air Force, entering November 1, 1954 and receiving his honorable discharge on January 8, 1965, having attained the rank of Tech Sergeant. During his working years he was employed as a manager at McDonnell Douglas in St. Louis, MO, retiring after thirty years of service to the company. Dick loved living in the country, enjoying nature and caring for his lawn. Gardening was another of his hobbies, as was woodworking. He was an outgoing man with many hobbies and interests. He played the guitar and enjoyed taking lessons. He was an avid reader and liked doing crossword puzzles. In recent years, his favorite pastime was going to Finish Line restaurant where he visited with his friends each day. He was a great storyteller and had the ability to make others laugh. He cherished the time spent with his family and grandchildren and many wonderful memories were created.

A kind and loving father, father-in-law, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, great and great-great-uncle, cousin and friend, he will be sadly missed and loving remembered by all who knew and loved him.

Visitation was held on Thursday, February 15, 2018, at Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair, MO. Funeral services were held at 10:00 AM on Friday, February 16, 2018, at St. John United Church of Christ in St. Clair, MO, with Rev. Laura Mignerone officiating. Interment was in Mt. Hope Cemetery, St. Clair, MO.
