Robert Allen Bardot, Sr. of Lonedell, MO, departed this life in Washington, MO, on February 8, 2018, having reached the age of eighty years, four months and eight days. Robert was born in Lonedell, MO, on September 30, 1937, son of Lawrence Raymond Bardot, known to all as Raymond, and Annie Isabell Bardot nee McDermott. On May 27, 1961, he was united in marriage to Joan Ellen Furse and four children came to bless this union.
Robert is survived by his wife, Joan Bardot of Lonedell, MO; by his sons, Robert A. Bardot, Jr. and wife, Diane, of Lonedell and Roger Bardot and wife, Wendy, of Lonedell; by his daughters, Lois Ann Bardot-Fisk and husband, Gary, of Grubville, MO, and Pam Broeker and husband, Troy, of Lonedell; by eleven grandchildren, Brandon Bardot and wife, Alesha, of Union, MO, Darron Bardot and wife, Jessica, of Jackson, MO, Emily Schmidt and husband, Kolby, of Chickasha, OK, Ericka Williams and husband, Daniel, of Florissant, MO, Rachel Bardot of Lonedell, Ben Bardot of Lonedell, Lucas Broeker of Florissant, Laura Bardot of Lonedell, Ryan Bardot of Lonedell, Morgan Broeker of Lonedell and Jennifer Broeker of Lonedell; by four great-grandchildren, Roselyn, Dorothy and Anne Bardot of Union and Liam Bardot of Jackson; by brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, great and great-great-nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Annie Bardot; and by his sister, Rita Crites.
Robert was a Christian, and lifelong member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Luebbering, MO. He was proud to have served his country in the United States Air Force, entering on February 2, 1959, and receiving his honorable discharge on December 6, 1962, after having attained the rank of Airman First Class. During his working years he was a self employed farmer, raising various crops and cattle. He had also worked for the Franklin County ASC office for about four years as a crop surveyor. Robert was especially fond of his Massey Ferguson and Allis Chalmers tractors. He also loved to work in his garden and go fishing. Robert was a friendly man with a great sense of humor and enjoyed the fellowship of his many friends. What meant most to him was his time spent with his family. The many memories they created will forever live in their hearts.
A kind and loving husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother-in-law, uncle, great and great-great-uncle, cousin and treasured friend, he will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved him.
Visitation was held on Sunday, February 11, 2018, at Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair, MO, with parish prayer services at 7:30 PM. Funeral mass was held at 11:00 AM Monday, February 12, 2018, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Luebbering, MO with Father Bob Knight officiating. A private committal will take place at a later date. Memorials may be made to the charity of choice.
