R.L. was born in Shelbyville, AR, on March 21, 1935, son of Ruben Cleveland Ingram and Ollie May Ingram nee Sneed. On October 4, 1952, he was united in marriage to Betty Jane Lillard and one son came to bless this union.

R.L. is survived by his wife, Betty Ingram of St. Clair, MO; by his son, Steven Ingram and wife, Susan, of St. Clair; by two grandchildren, Chad Ingram and wife, Kristie, of Villa Ridge, MO and Jason Ingram and wife, Kayla, of St. Clair; by seven great-grandchildren, Sasha Russell, Ryan Russell, Morgan Ingram and Roland Ingram, all of Villa Ridge, MO, and Brook, Aiden and Blake Ingram, all of St. Clair; by his niece he helped to raise, Melody Nixon and husband, Jason, and her family, of New Haven, MO; by two brothers, Ray Ingram of Festus, MO, and Gary Ingram and wife, Debbie, of Forsyth, MO; by three sisters, Helen Mullins of Woodlawn, IL, Linda White of Farmington, MO, and Olline Boyer of Midlawn, IL; by brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, great and great-great-nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends.

R.L. was preceded in death by his parents, R.C. and Ollie Ingram, and by one brother, Bobby Ingram.

R.L. was a Christian, having been raised in the Baptist faith and believing in the Lord as his Savior. R. L. and his family moved to the St. Clair area in about 1974. He then opened and operated many locations of Ingram's Stores, as well as managing his rental properties and storage units. R.L. at one time owned the old A&W Restaurant in St. Clair and also had his own trucking business. He liked old cars and was a past member of the Route 66 Car Club. Riding motorcycles and going to "the boats" were other favorite pastimes. He loved boating with his family and enjoyed all water sports, as well as playing shuffleboard. R.L. was also an avid St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan and rarely missed watching a game. Nothing meant more to him than the time spent with his family. The love they shared and many precious memories they created will live on in their hearts forever.

A devoted and loving husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, great and great-great-uncle, cousin and treasured friend, he will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved him.
