Irene Elizabeth Rosch of St. Clair, MO, departed this life in St. Clair on September 10, 2017, having reached the age of ninety-two years, five months and six days. Irene was born in St. Clair on March 16, 1925, daughter of Ernest William Jones and Anna Elizabeth Jones nee Engel. On May 16, 1942, she was united in marriage to Elmer George Rosch and three children came to bless this union.

Irene is survived by two sons, Larry Rosch and wife, Ginny, of Union, MO, and Mark Rosch of St. Clair, MO; by eight grandchildren, Eric Rosch and wife, Joanna, of Colorado Springs, CO, Renee Loomis of Kirkwood, MO, Christy Fischer of St. Clair, MO, Jennifer Banks of St. Clair, Aimee Wilson of St. Clair, Michele Dierker and husband, Steve, of Lonedell, MO, Julie Williams and husband, John, of St. Clair and Ashley Brison of St. Louis, MO; by nineteen great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great, great-great and great-great-great-nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends.

Irene was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Anna Jones; by her husband, Elmer Rosch; by her daughter, Linda Marsh, and by one sister, Wilma Spray.

Irene was a Christian and lifelong member of the First Baptist Church in St. Clair, MO, and had served as a Sunday School teacher for many years. As a young woman, she had worked for about eight years at the 5 and 10 Store, now known as R & R Ace, in St. Clair, MO. Her greatest joy came from caring for her home and family and she had enjoyed serving as a room mother for her children. She was an avid reader and thoroughly enjoyed watching wildlife. Baking was another of her hobbies. Nothing made Irene happier than the time she spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as each held a special place in her heart.

A devoted and loving mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great and great-great-grandmother, aunt, great, great-great and great-great-great-aunt, cousin and friend, she will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved her.

Funeral services were held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, September 13, 2017, at Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair, MO, with the Rev. Jim Muir officiating. Interment was in the United Methodist Cemetery, St. Clair, MO. Memorials may be made to the cemetery.
