OBITUARY

Jeffrey Lyman Bliss of St. Clair, MO, departed this life in St. Louis, MO, on August 10, 2017, having reached the age of sixty-two years, three months and four days. Jeffrey was born in Washington, MO, on May 6, 1955, son of Tosca Lyman Bliss, known to all as Toc, and Norma Jean Bliss nee Cordia, known to most as Jean. As a young man he was united in marriage and blessed to have three children.

Jeffrey is survived by his son, Jim Bliss and fiancée, Autumn Hinson Hooper, of St. Clair, MO; by two daughters, Kate Bliss and companion, Paul DeBoard, of St. Louis, MO, and Abby Bliss of St. Clair; by his mother, Jean Bliss of St. Clair; by his brother, Mark Bliss of St. Clair; by three grandchildren, Tosca Bo Bliss, Calleigh Hooper and Jesse Hooper, all of St. Clair; by aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.

Jeffrey was preceded in death by his father, Tosca Bliss.

Jeffrey was a Christian and current member of Union Church of God in Union, MO. As a boy and young man, he was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Lonedell, MO. He was a carpenter by trade and member of Carpenter's Local 1839 in St. Louis, MO. For about ten years he worked out of the Carpenters Union. He currently owned and operated Bliss Building CO, which he operated from his home, doing residential work in the surrounding area. He had a passion for fishing, especially with his brother and son. He was truly a family man at heart and he was happiest when spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. The love they shared and many precious memories they created will live in their hearts forever.

A kind and loving father, grandfather, son, brother, nephew, cousin and treasured friend, he will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved him.

Funeral services were held at 10:00 AM Wednesday, August 16, 2017, at Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair, MO, with the Rev. Ben Kingston officiating, assisted by the Rev. Robert Stacy. Interment was in Bethel Cemetery near Lonedell, MO. Memorials may be made to Bethel Cemetery, Lonedell, MO.
