Janet Kay Hoffmeister of St. Clair, MO, departed this life in St. Clair on July 16, 2017, having reached the age of fifty-two years, eight months and seven days. Janet was born in St. Louis, MO, on November 9, 1964, daughter of Thomas Fredrick Hoffmeister and Patricia Clare Hoffmeister nee Ritter.
Janet is survived by two brothers, Kevin Hoffmeister of Pacific, MO, and Mark Hoffmeister of St. Clair, MO; by aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends.
Janet was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Patricia Hoffmeister; by one brother, Kenneth Hoffmeister, and by her sister, Sharon Hoffmeister.
Janet was a Christian of the Catholic faith and lifelong member of St. Clare Catholic Church in St. Clair, MO. She was also a member of the Daughters of Isabella, St. Clair Circle #1082. During her working career she was employed as a cashier at various stores, most recently at Dollar General in St. Clair, serving the company for over eleven years. Janet loved watching sports, especially the St. Louis Cardinals and St. Louis Blues. She loved to cook, watch the Food Network on television and try new recipes. She enjoyed working and visiting with customers, fishing, buying Avon and shopping. Janet was always there to help her church and others in any way and donate her time whenever she could.
A kind and loving sister, niece, cousin and treasured friend, she will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved her.
Visitation was held from 2:00 to 8:00 PM Wednesday, July 19, 2017, at Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair, MO, with Rosary services led by the D of I, at 7:30 PM. Funeral mass was held at 11:00 AM Thursday, July 20, 2017, at St. Clare Catholic Church in St. Clair with Father Eric Kunz officiating. Interment was in St. Clare Catholic Cemetery in St. Clair. Memorials may be made to Daughters of Isabella, St. Clair Circle #1082.
