OBITUARY

Betty Lee Potts of Luebbering, MO, departed this life in Washington, MO, on March 31, 2017, having reached the age of eighty-eight years and twenty-seven days. Betty was born in St. Louis, MO, on March 4, 1929, daughter of Floyd L. Moore and Edith A. Moore nee Grojean. On August 20, 1955, she was united in marriage to Robert Keena and four children came to bless this union. On March 8, 1969, she was united in marriage to Homer William Potts and one child came to bless this union and he loved her children as his own.

Betty is survived by her children, Michael L. Keena of Kirksville, MO, Carol Brumgard of Lonedell, MO, Robert W. Keena, Jr. and wife, Patricia, of St. Clair, MO, Christopher Keena and wife, Irina, of Wentzville, MO, and Gail Stahlman and husband, Mark, of Luebbering, MO; by one brother, Donald Moore of Safety Harbor, FL; by ten grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great and great-great-nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Edith Moore; by her husbands, Robert Keena and Homer Potts; by three brothers, Arthur Moore, Leslie Moore and Jerry Moore, and by two sisters, Hazel McKenzie and Laverne Moore.

Betty was a Christian and member of Prospect Baptist Church in Lonedell, MO. During her working career she was employed by Boeing Corporation in St. Louis, MO, as a laborer. From 1965 to 1980 she and Robert owned and operated Bob's Camper Sales in Florissant, MO. Betty enjoyed barrel racing in her younger years and was 1998 NBHA World Champion in Senior Barrels. Other hobbies and interests included playing softball, tennis and bowling. She loved to watch all genre of movies, especially dramas and mysteries. What meant most to her was time spent with her family. Her children and grandchildren held a very special place in her heart, as she did in their hearts.

A kind and loving mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, great and great-great-aunt, cousin and treasured friend, she will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved her.

A celebration of life will take place on Sunday, May 7, 2017 at Prospect Baptist Church, which is located at 3585 Hwy 47 Lonedell, MO. The celebration will be from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM. The family of Betty Lee Potts entrusted the care of their loved one to Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair, MO.
