Rose Jankowski of Robertsville, MO, departed this life at her home in Robertsville on January 21, 2010, having reached the age of eighty-nine years, ten months and twenty-eight days. Rose was born in Granite City, IL on February 24, 1920, daughter of John Mushill and Mary Mushill nee Fedasch. On September 18, 1937, she was untied in marriage to Peter Frank Jankowski and two children came to bless this union.
Rose is survived by her daughter, Donna Komo and husband, John, of Clemson, SC, by her daughter-in-law, Patricia Jankowski of Eureka, MO; by two grandchildren, Jacqui Aurich and husband, Charles, of Hong Kong and Regina Foster and husband, John, of Central, SC, by one great-grandchild, Chris Aurich of Hong Kong; by one brother, Raymond Mushill and wife, Marie, of Belleville, IL; by nieces, nephews, great and great-great-nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.
Rose was preceded in death by her parents, John and Mary Mushill; by her husband, Peter Jankowski; and by her son, Paul Jankowski.
Rose was a Christian and member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church of Luebbering, MO. She was also a member of the Daughters of Isabella, St. Clair Circle #1082. Rose had made caring for her home and family her career in life and she never tired of her job. She enjoyed gardening and working in the yard and in later years, also enjoyed bowling and playing Bingo. Rose was happiest when she was spending time with her family and each of her grandchildren held a special place in her heart; just as she did in their hearts.
A devoted and loving mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, great and great-great-aunt, cousin and friend, she will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved her.
Memorial mass was held at 11:00 AM Saturday, February 27, 2010 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Luebbering with Father John McEntee officiating. Private committal will be held at a later date. The Jankowski family was served by Russell Colonial Funeral Home, St. Clair, MO. Masses or memorials to the St. Clare Site Council Meals on Wheels Program may be made.
