OBITUARY

Dorothy Louise Crews of St. Clair, MO, known to most as Louise, departed this life in Washington, MO, on September 21, 2016, having reached the age of ninety-one years, eleven months and twenty-six days. Louise was born in Plebna, MO, on September 26, 1924, daughter of Marion Ross and Pearl Ross nee Walker. As a young woman she was united in marriage and blessed to have two children. On July 5, 1955, she was united in marriage to Forrest Glen Crews and one child came to bless this union.

Louise is survived by her sons, Leslie Crews, known to all as Les, and wife, Debbie, of Washington, MO and Robert Dopp, known to all as Bob, and wife, Genny, of Union, MO; by her sister, Joyce Ross of St. Clair, MO; by her sister-in-law, Rita Ross of Dallas, TX; by seven grandchildren, Dawn Kleinheider and husband, Dennis, of Washington, MO, Buck Kamper and wife, Patti, of Lonedell, MO, Christi Unnerstall and husband, Dr. Scott, of Washington, Spike Kamper and wife, Tammy, of Lonedell, Beaver McGuire and wife, Heather, of Hannibal, MO, Ashley Gildehaus and husband, Ryan, of Washington and Tyler Crews and wife, Jessica, of Union; by thirteen great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, nieces, nephews, great and great-great-nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.

Louise was preceded in death by her parents, Marion and Pearl Ross; by her husband, Forrest Crews; by her daughters, Linda Kamper and Connie McGuire; by two grandchildren, Steve Dopp and Michael McGuire; and by two brothers, James and Donald Ross.

Louise was a Christian, having been raised in the Catholic faith. She had lived in St. Clair throughout most of her adult life and for ten years had worked as a sales clerk at Berkel's Store on Main Street in St. Clair. She was an outgoing lady that enjoyed the fellowship of her many friends. She enjoyed playing cards and visiting at Lewis Cafe. She was talented at many crafts and quilting was a favorite pastime as well as sewing yoyos. She enjoyed playing dominos with her friends and collecting miniature shoes. Nothing made her happier than the time she spent with her family and many wonderful memories have been created.

A devoted and loving mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great and great-great-grandmother, sister-in-law, aunt, great and great-great-aunt, cousin and friend, she will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved her.

Funeral services were held at 10:00 AM on Friday, September 23, 2016, at Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair, MO, with Father Kevin Schmittgens officiating. Interment was in Crestview Memorial Park, St. Clair, MO. Memorials may be made to Crabapple Village Senior Estates, St. Clair, MO.
