Edgar Frank Leach, known to all as Ed, of St. Clair, MO, departed this life at his home, surrounded by the love of his family, on August 18, 2016, having reached the age of seventy-eight years, eleven months and twenty-eight days. Ed was born in Sparks, KS on August 21, 1937, son of William Henry Leach and Jennie Leach nee Davis. On January 25, 1969 he was united in marriage to Susan Gae Smith and two daughters came to bless this union.
Ed is survived by his wife, Susan Leach, of St. Clair, MO; by his two daughters, Amy Hines and husband, Paul, of St. Clair and Robyn Sikes and husband, John, of St. Clair; by six grandchildren, Taylor Sikes, Edgar Hines, Connor Sikes, Melissa Hines, Tyson Sikes and Alyssa Sikes, all of St. Clair; by two uncles, Frank Davis of the state of Pennsylvania and Calep Davis of the state of Kansas; by his aunt, Lola Mae Hatfield of the state of Colorado; by nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents, William Leach and Jennie Leach McCoy; by his step-father, Charles McCoy; and by his brothers, Donald Leach and Billy Dean Leach.
Ed was a Christian and long time member of Bethel Baptist Church in Lonedell, MO, where he served as cemetery sexton for many years. He was proud to have served his country in the United States Army, entering on March 11, 1957 and receiving his honorable discharge on March 5, 1959, having attained the rank of PFC. During his working career he was employed as a manufacturing manager for Esselte Pendaflex in Union, MO, retiring after forty-four years of service to the company. Ed was a past member of the St. Clair Rotary Club. He was also active delivering Meals on Wheels at the St. Clair Senior Center for a little over ten years. Ed had a spirit to volunteer and was even honored by the state of Missouri for his volunteer work as a veteran. He loved to play golf, shoot and talk about guns, mow grass, play basketball and tinker in woodworking. If he ever needed help he could always call on "Mr. Jink Rink". What meant most to him was time spent with his family. His children and grandchildren held a very special place in his heart, as he did in theirs. The love they shared and many precious memories they created will forever live in their hearts.
A kind and loving husband, father, father -in-law, grandfather, nephew, uncle, great-uncle, cousin and treasured friend, he will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved him.
