Paul Edward Linhorst of Luebbering, MO, departed this life suddenly in Washington, MO, on August 7, 2016, having reached the age of sixty-three years and one day. Paul was born in St. Louis, MO, on August 6, 1953, son of Arthur Richard Linhorst and Elvera Emma Linhorst nee Kassel. As a young man he was united in marriage and blessed to have three children. On July 2, 2005, he was united in marriage to Fern Lee Ruebling nee DeClue and they were blessed to have eleven years together.

Paul is survived by his wife, Fern Lee Linhorst of Luebbering, MO; by two children, Joshua Linhorst and Rebecca DeAguiar and husband, Jonathan, all of Raynham, MA; by his mother, Elvera Linhorst of Luebbering; by one sister, Anita Wiese and husband, Ted, of Houston, TX; by his step-children, Debbie Nipper and husband, David, of Bonne Terre, MO and Lisa Cosby of Orlando, FL; by three grandchildren, Genesis, Silas and Ezra DeAguiar of Raynham; by his brothers and sisters-in-law, Dale Kleinheider of Union, Gary DeClue and wife Donna, of Marble Hill, MO, Zona Alexander of St. Clair, MO and Nora Nethington, of Potosi, MO; by nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends.

Paul was preceded in death by his father, Arthur Linhorst; by one daughter, Wendy Sue Linhorst, and by one sister, Jan Kleinheider.

Paul was a Christian of the Lutheran faith and member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in St. Clair, MO. He was currently employed as a machine operator at Linmark Machine Products in Union, MO, having been with the company for about four years. Paul was proud to have served his country in the United States Navy, entering in 1976 and receiving his honorable discharge in 1980. Paul had served three years in Australia and spent one year on the island of Diego Garcia. After his discharge from the military he had received his Associates Degree as a respiratory therapist. Paul loved the outdoors and especially enjoyed fishing. Gardening and planting fruit trees were also favorite hobbies. He was very talented in working with wood and doing carpentry work came natural to him. He enjoyed going to tool and car auctions and enjoyed the fellowship of the other attendees. Paul didn't know a stranger and his keen sense of humor and happy disposition will be missed by all who knew him.

A loving and devoted husband, son, father, father-in-law, grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, cousin and friend, he will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved him.

Funeral services were held at 10:00 AM on Friday, August 12, 2016, at Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair, MO, with the Rev. Darwin Karsten officiating. Interment was in Crestview Memorial Park, St. Clair, MO. Memorials may be made to the family.
