Janice Leora Fleer, known to most as Jan, of Washington, MO, departed this life at her home, surrounded by the love of her family, on August 3, 2016, having reached the age of seventy-five years, one month and fifteen days. Jan was born in Piggott, AR, on June 18, 1941, daughter of Howard Leslie Bell, Sr., known to all as Jack, and Eva Leora Bell nee Banks. As a young woman she was united in marriage and blessed to have two daughters. On May 18, 1996, she was united in marriage to Stanley A. Fleer, Sr. and their families were joined as one.

Jan is survived by her husband, Stan Fleer of Washington, MO; by two daughters, Susan Hoffmann of Valley Park, MO and Robyn Orf and husband, Larry, of Bowling Green, MO; by two step-daughters, Annette Irwin and husband, Mike, of St. Clair, MO and Donna Downey and husband, Edward, of Lonedell, MO; by nine grandchildren, Adam and Andrew Hoffmann of St. Louis, MO, Dakota McEntee of Bowling Green, Tamara Taylor and husband, John, of Enos, OK, Dean Jones, known to most as Levi, and fiancée, Savannah, of St. Clair, Douglas Roussin of Bourbon, MO, Stanley O. Fleer of Wichita, KS, Rose Richie and husband, Shawn, of Lonedell and Matthew McMullin and wife, Hailey, of Leasburg, MO; by one brother, Howard Bell and wife, Carol, of Union, MO; by one sister, Barbara Privat of Melvern, KS; by sixteen great-grandchildren, brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, great and great-great-nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends.

Jan was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Eva Bell, and by three step-children, Stanley A. Jr., Tamara and Janette Fleer.

Jan was a Christian and long time member of Fairview United Methodist Church in Grubville, MO. She was an outgoing lady with a vibrant personality. She had an Associates Degree in Business and Marketing and retired from Maritz Corporation in Fenton, MO, after twenty years as a Project Manager. After her retirement, she worked for six years at Schnucks in Washington, MO, as a floral designer. She had also obtained her real estate license and worked in that field for about two years. She loved to square dance and in past years had square danced with the St. Clair Twirlers in St. Clair, MO and Buttons and Bows Square Dancers in Washington, MO. She loved spending time outdoors and going camping and fishing with the family were favorite hobbies. She also enjoyed working in her yard and raising beautiful flowers. She and Stan had enjoyed traveling and she was an avid deer hunter. Nothing made her happier than the time she spent with her children and grandchildren and each of them held a special place in her heart.

A devoted and loving wife, mother, step-mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, great and great-great-aunt, cousin and friend, she will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved her.

Funeral services were held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, August 6, 2016, at Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair, MO, with the Rev. John Hampton, Jr. officiating. Interment was in the Odd fellows Cemetery in Washington, MO. Memorials may be made to Fairview United Methodist Church in Grubville, MO.
