Vance Eric Gasho of St. Clair, MO, departed this life in Washington, MO on January 14, 2010, having reached the age of sixty years, four months and twenty days. Vance was born in Granite City, IL on August 25, 1949, son of Stanley Wayne Gasho and Delores Jean Gasho nee Layton. In about 1989, he began sharing his life with David Pepper and many wonderful memories have been made.
Vance is survived by his companion, David Pepper of Sullivan; by his sister, Vandelena Lee and husband, John, III, of Granite City; by his nephew, Stanley Lee of Granite City; by aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and many friends.
Vance was preceded in death by his parents, Stanley and Delores Gasho.
Vance was a Christian and had been raised in the Baptist faith. During his working years, he was employed in the restaurant industry, primarily as a manager. For a few years, he owned and operated Snydle’s Sandwich Shop in downtown St. Louis, MO. Vance enjoyed many hobbies and interests during his life. Cooking was his passion and he also enjoyed doing woodworking and gardening. He was happiest when he was spending time with his family and the love and wonderful memories created will be treasured forever.
A kind and loving companion, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, cousin and friend, he will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved him.
The Gasho family was served by Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair, MO. Private committal services will take place at a later date. Memorials may be made to the family.
